SUCCESSFUL SURGERY... DONE! We're Home!

Saturday, February 20, 2021

Went into UBC hospital yesterday for 11:15 check-in. Prepped & into surgery at 1:40 until 3:40. Surgeon called Larry to say all went well. He spoke to me also, but I don't remember! I went in feeling like it was a trip to the dentist. Came out, 'not so much'!  All of the boxes were ticked off, for me to go home this morning... 24 hrs. later. Amazing that they do so much and send you on your way in a day. Picked up the prescriptions on the way home. Pot-holes & speed-bumps, 'Enemy #1' to the 'tender area' on the drive from Vancouver. Learning how to move, is quite a challenge, especially how to sit & get in & out of bed.  Many of you have been in similar situations, and much, much worse.

I slept in 15 minute intervals last night, so I'm very much suffering with 'Zomby-itis' today. Without the tubes, probing, noises & light show, I'm happy to be home, Hopefully I'll catch up on rest, in the next day or so. I'm so sorry, but I just can't begin right now to start answering individual messages, from dozens of phone-calls, texts, emails, etc. that came in yesterday & today, expressing good wishes for speedy recovery. We appreciate your love and support. I'm so sorry. I really wish you could have read something yesterday, but not being home, didn't allow for updating the blog. So many people praying for us. Thank you all so much. Received an email from a Cursillo friend in Mallorca, Spain today, who was sharing our need for prayer with a group of over 100 people. Such an army! We are so very blessed.

All the medical staff, were very caring and thorough. Pathology report will be ready in about 2 wks., including for lymph biopsy. The 'walk-about' with the camera inside, discovered no areas of concern.    Larry gets to give me an injection a day for 28 days. He hates needles, so this is quite a labour of love for him. He didn't hurt me 'too much' with his first try today. It's to prevent the risk of blood clots.

Take care. Know that we hold you dearly in our hearts & prayers. God bless you. xoxoxo
