CHEMO & RADIATION THERAPIES about to begin

  The long awaited visit to the Medical Oncologist at Abbotsford Cancer Clinic was an hour spent with very caring and thorough Doctor and nurse. 

CHEMO Schedule

• Each chemo I.V. therapy will be 5 hours long.
• First chemo appointment will hopefully happen within a week or two.  
• After each therapy, there is a 3 week break until the next.
• 3 therapies over a 9 week period (Approx. by the end of June)

RADIATION Schedule

• 5 weeks of 5 days a week
• 3 week break before chemo starts again

CHEMO Schedule

•  Back to the same 9 week routine for chemo again. 
• Hopefully finished by November

HAIR LOSS -Guaranteed

• I ordered a wig yesterday, hopefully will have within 2 wks.

NAUSEA

• Medications to minimize symptoms

  The word 'chemo' put the seriousness of 'cancer' into perspective. I experienced relatively moderate amounts of dread over the testing, diagnosis, surgery & recovery. The hardest part has been the not knowing, or not getting on with whatever was coming next.  Well, it's here! And it's become very real.

  There is a lot of 'teaching' material to go over regarding all that I can do to keep healthy & minimize discomfort.

  I know that I am being carried by grace, as I am experiencing peace and 'fortification' (is the word that comes to mind). Strength for the journey.
