Today was such a blessing. Started the day thinking of my Dad, who used to take leftover chowmein, add an egg and call it Chinese pancake (egg fu yung, actually). I caught up with a few people. Organized my calendar (6 appointments over the next 10 days) Hard to keep my head from getting confused (Oh, that's new!) Had fun, back & forth, with my wonderful neice, Abby who was making chicken soup with Nana for us. We'll see them tomorrow to claim the soup.
Our beautiful Syrian family brought us dinner! I swear that the Syrian's invented cooking. Every single thing is so so so delicious. We tried eating outside, but it seemed we experienced 3 seasons today.
I wanted to make butterflies with Maya and Edie's names to hang in our window for them to see, from their condo next door. I asked Larry when they were moving, he said "They just left!" We didn't have their contact info, so I was really sad. They had made us a heart for our window a couple of years ago, that we kept on our window. They always giggled when they saw us. We loved each other, without words. Their mom & dad are so lovely. Well, my guardian angel is working over time. We just answered our door, and there they were. "We didn't want to leave without saying goodbye!" I made sure they knew how much they meant to us. We'll be connecting with them as they moved not too far from here. Their eyes smiled and twinkled as we told them how special they have been to us in brightening our lives here.
Larry came home with a lovely chapeau & scarf. I've been having fun practicing wrapping, twisting, knotting. Keep looking at videos by women who have mastered the art, in the midst of their own chemo journey. They're so lovely and sweet. One said, it was helpful to cut her hair as short as she wanted to, to get used to the idea. So I did!
Just a bit ago, I heard from a dear friend. We met, when we worked at Shell Oil in 1970. Its wonderful to journey with friends through many milestones in each other's lives. Our paths are definitely connecting, as she just found out that she will require chemotherapy as well. I'm farther along in treatment, so I really hope that I can be encouraging to her through the events of this course I'm on. Just 'knowing', 'listening', 'loving' and 'persevering' together is such a gift. Her brother-in-law just died, so hearts are heavy. Please pray for my friend and her hubby!
Wasn't going to post anything today, but just couldn't help it! I love you! Hope you do something lovely over the weekend. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY all you moms. God bless you!. xoxoo
I'm rather ADD, so if you haven't noticed, often I cover up to 7 topics in one post. Welcome to my brain! Follow the bouncing ball!
