ROUGH ROLLER COASTER TO JOYFUL MERRY-GO-ROUND

Wednesday, May 12, 2021 7:29 PM

My first day after chemo, was a peaceful Friday. That didn't last long, when I was awoken in the night by severe pain in my feet up to my thighs. When I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the mid 90's, this was common. I used to tell Larry that it felt like someone took a hammer to my heels and the pain radiated up. I haven't felt that for a very long time, and forgot how debilitating it is. When I try to walk, it feels like bare feet on crushed gravel. (not complaining, just info.) So, I knew I'd have to endure till Monday, and call my doctor. Mid-day Sunday I experienced severe lower (right side) abdominal pain. By evening, it travelled up my back & blood in urine. I ended up in E.R. from 10:30 to 3:00 am. After 2 hrs of waiting, they gave me an i.v. of something lovely. I couldn't lie down or move. I sat sleeping with my chin resting on my fist for 2.5 hrs. The doc said he hoped that the kidney stone had passed & I would have a CT scan Monday. (No stone showed up.)

To wrap this up (because its all good now), no discomfort from kidney/bladder after hospital. My doc got me on gabapentin and that took till Wednesday to erase the foot & leg pain.  Here's where it get's amazing. I SLEPT 11 hours that night. Thursday, next to my wedding day & sons being born, was the best day of my life. Everything looked, felt, tasted wonderful. I was so happy, it was exhaustingly good! Then the same Friday, Saturday, Sunday… until this day!

So, I'm going to post another blog entry now, but its quite a different them of its own. Aaaaaallllll goooood!

I've walked a bit more each day, but not good for too far. Making a meal tires me out, but I've done a few and Larry finishes what I start. He's really getting to be a good cook. Osobooko is his favorite to make, and eat!

God bless you! May your owies be few and the owies you do have, may they be bearable and not for long. xooxxo
