I am so happy to write this entry, because it's 'over the moon' happy days!
Hard to believe that tomorrow is 2 weeks since my 1st chemo with one week to go for the 2nd round.
The HAIR thing! Time has really been a friend in helping me adjust to what I've been told is a guarantee, that I will lose my hair. Well, my wig is still in transit, but I've almost lost my enthusiasm, even if it's beautiful. So many chemo/cancer survivors and many who have made great videos on how to tie a head-wrap with scarves have said that the scarf route was the one they mostly used.
I'm finding more videos and being more encouraged. I know, the proof is in the pudding. When the time comes, I probably won't be typing this fast, light heartedly. But I've been having fun.
Today, I ironed all the scarves and had fun paring them together. Just to try, after seeing a video, I took my 'Santiago de Compostela' scarf, and made a turban style wrap. It was quick and not too bad! Tomorrow I'm going to watch more videos and experiment, because I think I'll be wearing them sooner than later. When I fluffed my hair this morning, some tugs with my fingers had no hair, and others had about a dozen.
Yesterday, I bought a whole bunch of scarves at the dollar store. I dug out the ones that I already have. Some of them have very significant meaning/memories. When we cleaned my Mom's closet after she died, little did I know how important her scarves would be to me now, when at the time, I just thought it would be 'fun' to have a few. Last night on a zoom gathering, I was asked to go get my hat. I thought it was the hat Larry bought me. When I got back, everyone was wearing a hat, including a huge sombrero. That was so fun. The hat my friend was referring to was crochet by her daughter. It's a Princess Anna wig with crown, for days, she said "I want to feel like a princess!" Not sure that's what comes across when it's on my head!
Chemo has charged my creative juices and I've been doing a few artsy things, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what 'creations' come out of all these beautiful fabrics. Who knows? I may be giving tutorials one day!
Hope you find happiness in whatever you're doing. Take care. I love you. God bless you. xoxoxo
