JOY, FROM ONE END OF THE FAMILY SPECTRUM TO THE OTHER

    From the delight & privilege of a morning spent with my Aunties in their 80's , to the pure joy the very next day, of five 'wee ones' from 3 to 11.  The timing of these two days' events, were the best antidote to the painful week that preceded.  

   When my niece texted an invitation for a 'back yard' dinner with a few family members, it took me 3 seconds to respond "Oooooh Yeeees! Thank you so much!" It felt so liberating from the social gathering restrictions we've been in. Among the people at dinner were 5 grand-nieces & nephews (3 - 11). When asking one of the 5 yr. olds "Do you remember me?"…"No!~ was the response. When I asked if he remembered Santa extending a 10' fishing pole with a gift on it at Christmas, he said "That wasn't Santa, that was you guys!" Thank heaven for photos to help with memories, especially now.

   The hospitality & food were 5 star! A great delight for me was interacting with & observing the children at play. That little playhouse was the hub of creativity for each of the children.  The sound of children's voices, since moving to our condo, is one thing we hear very little of, plus with covid 'hushing' so much, my endorphins were certainly charged up with the wee chatter at the visit.

    I'm trying to figure out exactly what was going on last week, so I can report to my medical oncologist at my appointment this Thursday. She, I'm sure will have some insights. Friday I get my 2nd Vaccine at the Anvil Centre in New West. Maybe we'll take advantage of being near Queens Park again, and bring a picnic. I've always enjoyed that park. Sadly, there is no petting zoo. That is always entertaining.  Once my friend told her nervous 2 year old to feed the baby goat, as she held her baby in her arms. Her little boy, then pulled his shirt up to expose his chest, because that's what Mommy does to 'feed the baby'!

    We're seeing almost a week without appointments next week, so we're contemplating a few days get-away, not quite sure yet what that might be. Thinking of the ocean.
