Hi! Well, the radiation has begun. Thursday & Friday this past week. The procedure itself is non stressful, and just a few minutes. What I didn't count on was the challenge to get my bladder to cooperate. Yesterday, we were there 2 hours instead of half an hour because: too full, not full enough then when just right, other patients were being attended to, then it was too full again. Bla-bla-bla-bladder! Timing is everything, so we're going to try to be there at least 15 minutes early and hopefully be ready when I'm called.
I'm very grateful to a dear friend who just finished her own series of radiation and gave me a couple of super-duper skin creams that worked really well for her, against the side effect of radiation burn.
The staff are very kind and patient. It's a super serious department for sure. A gentleman I'll probably see for the rest of my treatments, has 30 all-together. His first 3, followed his chemo- therapy appointment an hour earlier, for his lungs. Now that's pretty tough! So the 'inconvenience' my bladder is causing, I won't let stress me.
Take care of yourself! God bless you and your loved ones! xoxo
