Hi! We met with the radiation oncologist for a follow-up on Thursday morning. He was very pleased that I had such few side effects from the 25 treatments, especially that there was absolutely no skin breakdown. (I've seen pics of pretty awful burns) I have very sensitive skin, so I'm more than grateful that I did so well. He encouraged me to keep on, keeping on. Larry asked about 'cumulative fatigue' (google research) because of the rough week I've had. The doctor said that at this stage of chemo, my body's taking quite a beating and its to be expected.
When we look at my track record, we are overwhelmingly pleased at how well I've done throughout chemo, radiation and now chemo again. Although.... last week, I wasn't doing the happy dance.
For the 1st time, I'm getting tired of 'all of this'. Last Wednesday was the pits. Hard to describe, but sub-zero energy & weaker than weak weakness. Larry was really worried. We were leaving the next day for the doctor's appointment and our 'get-away '. I could hardly walk from one room to the other. He picked up a wheelchair from a friend, in case I would still be in the same shape. Well HALLELUJAH! I was 'awesome', well, at least pretty good. Moderate energy restored!
My sister & her hubby came up to Harrison on Friday and camped near by. We've really enjoyed our time together. A bonus is that their 4 yr. old grandson joined them yesterday. We spent most of the day at the beach. How refreshing to enjoy nature through the eyes of a child.
The days have been so comfortable with perfect September weather. We're so grateful for this opportunity to enjoy such a relaxed time in nature together.
Our niece is on her way home to Prince George from her weekend on the coast, and we're hoping for a quick rendezvous on her way through. That'll be the 'cherry on top' of a very special weekend.
We're packing up now. So I'll say "ttfn"!
God bless you. Xoxo
I'm passing on this prayer request I received this morning. For baby Edison 3 1/2 wks. old, in Ontario - ICU with Covid 19. Bless his parents & family too.
