CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON A GREAT HEART MASSAGE FROM ABBY

 Yesterday, (Fri.) I called my sister-in-love, Linda to check if she was coming over for a visit as tentatively planned. As it turns out she couldn't get away, so I asked if we could take Abby, her granddaughter, our 'great' niece, with us for the day. "Absolutely", as Mom & Nana were going to be tied up with work all day.

   From the moment she was born, Abby exuded joy! She is a wonderful girl who has challenges, one might say, in verbal communication, due to cognitive issues. Well! Where she is definitely not challenged, but is a 'champion', is in expressing her love, (in this case) for us!  So many times yesterday, we heard "I love you, always!" "Aunty, you're awesome!" "You're so nice!" or this one, which is funny right now, "Aunty, nice hair!" and when I show her my almost bald head, she shrugs her shoulders indicating "So what?" And of course, there is never a shortage of hugs & kisses.

  We went to Steveston for lunch & a walkabout! While we were at lunch on the board-walk, Abby & Uncle Larry got a little carried away, singing to each other, louder & louder, outdoing each other,  

   Abby's quite excited these days, as she just got a great new hair style with 'red' highlights. So almost every person she greeted, she would add "Nice hair!", while she flipped hers back, awaiting their comment on new 'do'. What sheer delight she is. I kept taking pics and sending them to Mom & Nana! I couldn't wait to share them.

  When we got back and I told Linda what a beautiful day we had, because of Abby, I burst out sobbing with joy, My heart definitely was overflowing at the sheer delight, of what this beautiful girl gives us. She's the very best medicine for me, for sure! We called it a date, and she, Uncle & I agreed that we would pick a special place to go on a date together, at least once a month.

   For a Friday that was likely, going to be a quiet day, it turned out to be the most exciting day we have enjoyed in a very long time. This day was truly blessed.  I hope for you, great joy in your own life.
