GREAT NEWS FROM THE ONCOLOGIST TODAY

Hi! It's been 6 weeks since my last trip to the hospital for the final chemo treatment. The follow-up phone appointment was today with the oncologist. Her response to "What about the CT scan?" was "Wonderful!" other than some arthritis in the spine, (that's age) all looked good. Isn't the word 'wonderful' an excellent word to hear from your doctor!

As usual, she asked about any issues I may be having, and has recommendations to take care of them. These side effects may last for a while. One that is still with me is blurred vision. She said that eventually that will stop. During the first round of chemo, the vision cleared up at about 7 weeks, when the hair started growing. So that should be in the next week or so.

At this point, my meds are way down from what they used to be. There's a lot of joint pain and her answer to that is 'stretching' & walking as much as I can. I've got to adopt a routine for exercise, as simple as that may be right now. (Gotta start somewhere) I'm married to a Kinesiologist, so I'll 'encourage' him to be my trainer. Like a spouse teaching the other to drive, it may be a bit of a risk to the relationship. I'll definitely pray for obedience & cheerfulness to whatever he 'coaches' me to do.

We were at our Aunties' today when I got the doctor's call. I was just fine when I hung up, not sure of how I was feeling. Then I turned to my aunts & guess what! Like a child who's fine till she see's Mommy, I cried while I told them. The tears came as I realized how very blessed I am, and have been for the many, many, many people praying for & loving me through this. Every week I hear from someone new, often whom I hardly know, saying that they pray for me each day. That's why I'm doing so well.

So thank you for accompanying us on this journey. May God bless you with abundant grace in your own journey. xoxoxo
