SPENDING 'GOOD' TIME

Sunday, January 16, 2022

Hello. I need a lift from my struggles, so I'll share something special that has given me exactly that over the past week.

We've been sorting through old photos & getting so many heart massages from revisiting beautiful memories.

With Covid on a catastrophic rise and me with my immune system still compromised, the only air I am sharing with anyone is with Larry. I've had 2 infections & now shingles virus since chemo ended, & I really don't want anything more.

The photo above is my Mom with great-granddaughter Abby. Mom died the next year. She was called 'Special Gramma' by that generation. I'm so happy that Abby can have photos like this to remind her of how very loved she was by the very 'special Gramma' she never got to know. Abby will be 19 in March.

So, finding surprises as we go through boxes, has been such a gift. From discovering our wedding invitation from almost 50 years ago, Jason & Shane's new born keepsakes, photos of a whole generation no longer living & sadly some who tragically left us far too soon. So much love expressed in photos of family time together along with crazy silliness with Aunties, cousins & friends. Today we watched a video of Shane's pre-grad garden party gathering, with his friends all looking gorgeous, at our house before heading out. Our niece just discovered a photo card sent from my Dad, to my aunt & uncle from over-seas, WWII in 1940. Dad was 22. The picture frame with his photo said 'Thinking of you always!'

God bless you to find positive ways to take the 'sting' out of the challenges at this time.

So for this time of isolation which tries to offer us great loneliness, Larry & I are finding that this trip down memory lane is filling our hearts with great warmth, joy & gratitude. It's the best medicine these days for sure.

xoxo
