ON THE FEAST OF ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA, ONE YEAR AGO... CHEMO #1.

I am overwhelmed & humbled by the prayerful support given me by so many gracious people, last year during my surgery and treatments for cancer.
Through an army of people praying & offering sacrifices, I received an overabundance of grace throughout the six months of chemo and radiation and prayed that the overflow of grace would bless you.
A year ago, I received a one-day notice, with a call saying "Can you come in tomorrow the 29th, to start your chemo?" It was the feast of St. Catherine of Siena. I took that as a very good sign, of God's Fatherly love for me.
With so much gratitude, I continue to pray for you each day, for God's blessing of grace and peace.

(I've sent this page out in an email to many people and groups who have held me in loving prayer. Most have not likely followed my journey, so I wanted to be sure they knew that I was doing well, thanks to their support. It was important for me to also includ the following, re: little Grace, whom they wouldn't have known about.)
One night last fall, I woke up, begging God for special grace to help me get through the terrific pain that consumed me. Peace washed over me at that moment. As I was beginning my day, I checked a national prayer line. And there was Grace, I could not have expected! Grace was 2 at the time, and the prayer request was for God to bless and heal her through her journey with leukemia, which included ongoing chemo and many painful procedures. She has one more year of chemo to go.
This little angel has given me courage and hope, as she endures far more suffering than I can imagine. Gracie holds a very special place in my heart and prayers.
