Hello, thank you for journeying with us.
We were told that Larry would be transferred to Ridge Meadows Hosp between 1:30 & 3:30. My Linda drove me in and when she was leaving I called Shane, who said he was on Pattullo bridge, 10 minutes from the hospital. He brought me home. I had lunch & a 15 minute nap. When I called the hospital to see where Larry's room was, the lovely nurse that looked after him on his last day there before going to RCH, answered the phone. He was so excited to speak with me, remembering our last encounter. Larry's in a room with 4 beds. I was grateful that his nurse asked many questions, to get a good feel for Larry's needs & his progress. The doctor said that Larry's surgeon wants to see him in 30 days. I have no idea what that looks like. I spent the visit trying to reassure & calm him. His stomach issue resolved itself as I was leaving. I sure hope he sleeps well tonight, as he didn't sleep at all today.
I suppose that we should expect Larry's recovery to possibly have this rhythm, of moving fwd a couple steps, then a wee step back. That will still mean progress. Although I left home at 10:30 & got back at 7:00 for the evening, I did not spend that much time with Larry. He was back to mumbling again, as he was experiencing gut discomfort that took 7 hrs to resolve.
I picked up great groceries on the way home, fresh pineapple, lots of red peppers for roasting & blueberries. I enjoyed dinner on our balcony, with a bit of a breeze & shade from the trees.
Not much in whispers of 'sweet nothings' to me today, but his good-by kiss was verrrry nice!
The drive from our home to hospital is under 15 minutes. I'm thankful Eric warned me, because the tank was less than 1/8 full, we'll see how long a 1/2 a tank lasts with my back & forth trips.
Nighty night! Thank you for your loving support & prayers. Sleep well! xoxo
