9:00 PM

Hello, thanks for joining us!

I was so happy to see Larry sitting in his special chair. It's always so much easier to visit, sitting beside him, rather than when I have to stand over him in his bed. He was not waking up for me, and that's ok, I don't keep at him to wake up. If he can't he can't, then it becomes more about me and there's no quality in the visit with the occasional one eye opening attempts. It’s a gift just to sit beside him and hold his hands, or stroke his face.  The dreaded coughing started an hour in. It's just so hard to hear & see him struggling, over & over. I prayed a litany of miracles from scripture, in rosary form. When I finished, his coughing stopped.

Iris was Larry's nurse today. Every time I think 'this nurse' is the best yet, along comes another gem. She's so good at taking care of him and lovely with me. She'll be with us tomorrow & Wednesday. Larry will have dialysis tomorrow. She made sure Larry got a super 'air' mattress today.

I'm more tired than usual today, so I look forward to a really good sleep. Hope you get restored from a good sleep too.

Marguerite & Jean Marc were coming to pick me up this afternoon & I had invited Fr. Cosmas to come along with them. He is a priest visiting here from Nigeria. I've enjoyed several encounters with him over the past month. A while ago he said "I feel that I know Larry, from my conversations with you and with others about him!" I felt too that he had been a friend, not only to me since his time here, but also with Larry. Witnessing his love and compassion for Larry as he stood beside his bed, holding his hand was so beautiful. The prayers he prayed over Larry were some that I pray every day as I sit at Larry's side. 2 Corinthians 1:4 …God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

And for sure Mr. Larry! Sleep well and we look forward to a good day tomorrow. Xooxxo God bless you!
