Hello, welcome to our Sunday! (Here's Larry at age 25 at GF Strong as a therapist in the gym)
I arrived at Larry's room, to an empty bed & empty wheelchair. He was in the 'throne' room. When he came out, he was happy to tell me that he asked for help to put on his clothes & shoes, then wheeled himself out into the hallways, to exercise his legs, by propelling himself along, & his arms, pushing the rims. He had finished his lunch before I came, again sitting in his wheelchair. We visited for a bit & he was ready for his nap for the day, at 2:00.
It was a while, before he fell asleep, & he didn't sleep for long. This is such a welcome change, from him sleeping non-stop, during the day! We did exercises together from the booklet he studied yesterday. He viewed Sunday Mass from Australia again, with Fr. Rob Galea. He enjoyed his dinner, including the salmon, broken into small flakes. I'm happy to say that he has had no problems at all, eating or drinking anything. Water was the one tricky liquid for him from the scope swallowing test. All of his juices & also his water are thickened. It's hard for him to get used to. He enjoyed the yogurt drink I brought him, as he is a milk lover & has not had milk to drink since last June.
I thanked him so much for taking the initiative to 'get going' today & look forward to more of the same in the future. I wanted to do a video for you, but only thought of it, after Larry returned to bed. Enough of that! I know you appreciate seeing him up & at it, so I'll try for tomorrow. Anyone who hasn't seen him for a week, or more is always surprised at the improvement in his voice. I'm excited for you to hear & see him. So, stay tuned!
Thank you for joining us! God bless you! Xoxo
Please say a prayer for our wee friend Alfreda, who has been infirmed for some time & who's death is imminent.
