GOOD DAY FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS (11.28.22)

Hello, welcome to our day!
Larry expressed disappointment at 11:15 that he hadn't had the therapy he was told he'd have, this morning. Just as I was wheeling him out of his room to see the day's schedule for therapies, his therapist came in & said "Let's go!" Again, doing exercises similar to before, but with fine tuning. The improvement Is obvious, when Larry keeps in mind the 'correct' way to use his body. He did a couple of different things, very well. One was to walk by lifting his knees as high as he could. The other was to walk sideways. He would also let go of the bars, for some of the steps & kept his balance very well. He really worked at doing as much as he could. The physio has a great way of coaching & encouraging Larry. It reminded me of the way Larry was with his clients, back in the day! He was also told that there are a couple of group sessions for him to attend during the week.
Mary-Lynn stopped in & enjoyed seeing Larry during the swallowing process. Larry was quite cute, echoing the therapist with "me, me, me, tee, tee, tee, kee, kee, kee" (or something like that.)
The speech therapist came to check on Larry's swallowing. The pureed & minced diet now includes 'soft foods'. Have a look at the pic to see what Larry enjoyed for the 1st time in ages. I'll be making him a special one to order, for tomorrow.
Hoping for another good day tomorrow. Larry crashed after being up so much from first thing this morning. While he slept, I made an advent wreath for his wall. Larry's the master decorator in our house, when it comes to getting ready for Christmas, so we'll see what we can do in his present environment.
