(Photo from 2017 in Co. Antrim N. Ireland: 'Carrick-a-Rede' rope bridge, 30 meters above the rocks below. A big deal for Larry, i.e. #1. Deathly afraid of heights & # 2. Both his knees needed replacing later that year. Looking fwd to doing it again.) Hello. Welcome! First day in 5 months, that I haven't gone to be with Larry! With his needs decreasing & independence increasing, his days are changing, especially now that he is in active rehabilitation. I called him just after lunch & he was speaking with the doctor (physiatrist) from his days at GF Strong. They enjoyed the reunion & the doctor just wanted to stop by & welcome Larry. The morning again, was busy with rehab. The highlight was that Larry climbed up 3 stairs, turned around & descended, repeating the set 3 times. With no therapy on weekends, Larry said he might invite another resident to play cards, or watch 'whatever' on the big screen tv in the recreation room.
The snow wasn't at all as much as forecasted, with the roads staying clear. It's supposed to start snowing lightly in a bit & go till 3:00 a.m. It looks like a rain/snow mix, so tomorrow will likely be fine for driving.
I just received word that little 10 month old Jesse's respiratory condition has improved. So many people have been praying & Jesse's parents are very grateful.
I've just called Larry before he goes to sleep for the night. He isn't so mobile, that he can reach his phone if its plugged in on his cupboard. . . Oh! He just called back! His wheelchair needed to be worked on, so that's what his O.T. did for the time scheduled for him after lunch. He said he observed the standing class & that he's not quite advanced enough for some of the exercises. He just started getting terribly itchy again. So he'll ask the nurse to address it when she comes. There is still no conclusive reason why he gets these rashes. If the special cream is applied right away, it nips it in the bud! I hope so!
Good night. God bless you! xoxo
Last night I started to put a calendar style record/journal together for Sept. Oct. & Nov. for Larry. There are a couple of entries from the 'eye of the storm'. It is inconceivably miraculous that we can speak today, of Larry achieving the mobility that he is, let alone his strong thinking mind & speech. We are so grateful for all the support, love & prayers that sustained & carried us through to this day.
