CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE CHEMO SOUL

Monday, June 14, 2021 7:35 PM
Hello! Just a quick note re: Post Chemo #3… Much, much better than #1 & #2's  'Peripheral Neuropathy'!   (I'm bragging, because I can actually say it now.) The severe foot & leg pain did not come on like it did the 1st 2 times, just some tingling in my fingers & toes.  Feeling rather queezy today, that's where the 'chicken soup' comes in. Pretty much the main course of the day. Just taking care, to take care of myself. Resting a lot.
The 1st 'CHICKEN SOUP' recipe, I actually experienced a couple of days before my chemotherapy, when 'The Girls' met for lunch, surprising me with their 'hat creations', each sporting a scarf, covered by a placemat brim. I knew this day would come, when their creative juices went on parade. 'Ms. D' got the placemats at VVBoutique, slipped them to each of the gals at their cars, so they could cut a hole out of the centre to fit their heads. Tacky? Definitely! But especially, Ms. D, who hung the price-tag from hers, by a safety pin.
Did we attract attention? You betcha! The hats gave license to a little more craziness than the usual cackles heard from our group. A few people expressed a bit of jealousy, a few others… just shook their heads.
I'm sure I haven't seen the last of the creativitiy! Why should I have all the fun?
God bless you. Hope you find fun in your day.
I heard a gal 'Night Bird' on AGT this week, who's cancer battle has been brutal. She shares great wisdom in 'one liners', such as: "Don’t wait for things to get better to be happy!" which I add "Now is the only 'now' I have now! What am I doing with it?" xoxoxo
