Hi. This week has been very full …of good stuff!
Wednesday we went to the 'Imagine vanGogh' Immersive Exhibit at Canada Place. The immersive part is that the artwork is projected onto the walls & floors in a massive room with many angled walls. We really did feel like we were on the shore, or in the field of the paintings. I studied a little before we went and found a new respect for VanGogh in understanding his efforts through terrible depression to create the beauty of 'life giving' nature as an act of hope, not only for himself but for others. That made the paintings even more beautiful for me. The exhibit is only here for a couple of more weeks, so I sure hope you get to go and experience this wonderful gift.
We then went for dessert at the Gallery café, then to English bay for a wee nap. We went to the cathedral for Mass at 5:00 and had a wonderful surprise as the 4 sisters (nuns) from our parish arrived there at the same time. They are so cheerful & sweet & always lovingly enthusiastic when they see us.
We then went to dinner with our son Jason at a favorite restaurant the 'Cazba' on Davie St. The food is wonderful, prices good and we sat outdoors under a canopy of leafy branches. We enjoyed a great visit.
Thursday, I was 'dragging lady'! I had to rest up for the trip to Tsawwassen to stay over at my sis Erin's so we could leave on the 7:45 ferry to Nanaimo in the morning. Larry & John went to Squamish for a day of fishing, after dropping us off at the ferry. The journey was lovely, as usual. We spent a great afternoon with our brother Michael in Ladysmith. Much of the time at the marina for lunch, surrounded by hundreds of sailboats. Hard to imagine why there were few empty births, with a full marina 'parking lot'. We hadn't seen Michael for over a year, so it we were very grateful to be together in person. We finished our visit with our sweet, sweet niece at her home for tea.
The day was long enough for my energy level. We caught the 5:45 ferry back and stayed overnight and left this morning. ..with a side-trip. We took some baked goodies & a coffee to Centennial beach at Boundary Bay. Nature is always so refreshing.
I need a couple of days again of quiet, to get recharged for next week. Appreciating the cooler weather, hoping for more of the same. Hoping you too are finding summer fun and mini get-aways to recharge your batteries.
God bless you. xoxoxo
