CHEMO MOON FACE

Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021 3:09 PM
Hello on this October Full Moon!
My round shaped face came from Dad's side. I grew up, surrounded by 'pixie' faced women on my Mom's side.
As if my face was not round enough, I now have what is officially called 'Chemo Moon Face'! The prednisone causes changes to how fat distributes across the body, ie: round puffy face with swollen cheeks; fat deposits in the neck area & abdominal weight gain. Every girl's dream, right? Generally, moon face will go away within a few months.
Occasionally, someone will say to me "You're face is slimmer!" or "The swelling seems to be going down!" Things I say to myself occasionally.
When I looked up 'Chemo Moon Face', I found the following, which I'm still digesting:
MOON FACE IS A BATTLE SCAR: Scars are often treated with high respect, as evidence that the carrier of that scar must have fought a tremendous battle & survived. Moon Face shows that you are fighting a battle to survive. Moon Face is a badge of honour. It is your proof that you are not going to give up; you refuse to let your condition knock you down. Instead, you are brave enough to take a miraculous, yet poisonous medicine to keep you alive. You are courageous enough to put up with terrible side effects.
EMBRACE MOON FACE: So, instead of resenting Moon Face, embrace it. Like a true moon, reflect the light of the sun. sharing inspiration & joy with the world. Embrace Moon Face as your battle scar that shows you are courageously fighting this battle you're in; one that no one knows, what it is costing you. It's a daily reminder that you're a fighter, fighting the good fight. (end of article)
I can't say that I'm shouting "Hip, hip, hooray!", but this 'Embracing the Battle Scar' attitude, I'll try to work on, as I'll be seeing the full moon for a while. If my artsy/fartsy moon face image freaks you out...what can I say, I'm on drugs!
 I'll leave you with this:
"Don’t worry if you’re making waves just by being yourself. The moon does it all the time."
Each of us is a beautiful creation, we must always remember that! God bless you! xoxo
