HOME SINCE THE VICTORIA 'GETAWAY'

Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021 3:56 PM "Bye, bye Daylight Savings time!"

Hi! After 3 days in Victoria, of pushing myself a little (or a lot) with just getting from A to B in the city, which usually meant from the car to: a restaurant; hat shop; or the cathedral for Mass, my body seems to be complaining with spasms. The most 'fun' exercise, was climbing the staircase on the ferry from lower deck to 5th. By the time I had one flight to go, I was madly panting, hunched over and waving people to pass me. I loved the walk in the park, it wasn't strenuous at all.
One day home and the neck spasms started, escalating Friday, same yesterday and travelling today throughout my back. When it grabs, the muscle contraction is not pretty. My physio is a quick walk from our building, so I sure hope I can visit him tomorrow. In the meantime, it's pills & the heat pad.
The bright spot these days has been something delightful, that I've discovered on our computer, which I haven't seen for years. Photos! I found them when I was searching for pics of/and with Aunt Nancy. To my delight, so many family events and outings with her were captured on film. It didn't stop there! When I found pics of 1 & 2 yr. olds (who are almost teens now) in a tulip or pumpkin patch, well… such heart melters and so many more that I've started organizing, & happy to say, actually started forwarding to people. A fun one from 2010 where my friend Diane & I were 'cruising' around a lake at Pender, in Larry's belly boats.
Life is pretty much like anyone else's, with their own owies to contend with. So, once the spasms calm down, I'll resume the daily walking, whether it's around the courtyard or a decent hike down by the river. In the mean time, Larry's cooking skills are becoming quite adventurous. He's come a long way from a can of beans & box of Kraft Dinner.
Take care! Hope you're finding your way through your own rough patches & ongoing challenges! God bless you.
