Hello!  Today was a great day. We went to our 'great' niece Abby's house to wish her happy birthday. Abby just turned 19. Intellectually, it's hard for me to put a finger on what age she is. She has a few challenges including verbally. However, her favorite phrases are "You're awesome!" & "I love you!" & "You're my friend!" A pretty good vocabulary that comes right from her heart. First thing whenever we arrive is "You want tea?" and off she goes to put on a pot of tea.

  Today I was inspired by a group of 3 women who have known Abby for a while. One I am familiar with, as Abby has always mentioned her name with a big smile on her face, is her special needs assistant since kindergarten and the other two, a teacher and her speech therapist. They truly love her, as no doubt, she does them. Their love for Abby and her family, goes far beyond their professional connection.

  The other great inspiration came from a couple who are Abby's God-parents. They brought a beautiful three year old girl with them. They adopted her last summer. This precious girl is their 'great-granddaughter'! Larry & I are so moved by their example of loving family.

  So, having visited with Abby today, as with any day, we were both given heart massages by her innocence & genuine love. 'To love and be loved in return!' That's Abby!

   "Happy birthday sweet girl! You are such a blessing to us and we thank God for the gift of you!"
