A SPECIAL VISIT FROM OUR 2 AUNTIES (08.27.22)

Hello, thank you for joining us today!
I was so excited when my cousin Theresa offered to bring our 2 Aunties to visit. They both love Larry so much, as he does them. Our last special time with them was just before Easter when we took them to Quesnel to see their niece (my cousin) Jeannette.
Larry woke up for a bit with his 'surprised eye' expression. A quiet visit with much love spoken in gestures & a few words. They both wrote beautiful messages in our 'visitor's journal'. So grateful to have them in our lives. Today was the day of our dear Jeannette's memorial service in Quesnel. The 3 of us stood beside Larry's bed and said a prayer in thanksgiving for Jeannette & for peace & consolation for her loved ones. Jeannette suffered terrible illnesses over half of her 80-something years, & championed through every one of them, with tremendous love, joy & generosity. Speaking of 'feisty', for sure that was Jeannette! Witty with a great sense of humour! She told me recently that she was so pleased that every one of her children, & her children's children were very 'kind' people. She was happy to leave that legacy. Those apples did not fall far from the tree, for sure.
The day with Larry was quiet. No dialysis as originally planned. The lovely surprise was the visit from the speech therapist. He waved & cracked a bit of a smile (1st time) at her. He followed her instructions: counting & days of the week. She gave me some exercises for him & ways to engage him in 'conversation.' She was pleased to hear about the music activities I do with him. I told her that he gives good kisses. She said "Do lots & lots of that, it exercises his 'ooooo' shape lip muscles." I said "No problem!"
So I'll count today as a good one. Thank you! Mary-Lynn has just came in. It's almost 7:00 & Larry gave her a wee bit of eye contact. The lovely part was him giving her a pat on her arm (like a big brother does) as she wrapped hers around him for a hug. I'm good'n tired. Sending this from hospital, as last night our computer gave me terrible attitude when I was trying to post the blog. So if there is nothing one evening, pls don't jump to conclusions. I'll check in the next day.
God bless you. Take care. xox
