A DAY, NOT REALLY LIKE OTHERS (08.30.22)

Hello, thanks for joining us.
I began my day by attending Santa Tom's' funeral, as I spoke about yesterday. He was very much a promoter (by example) of being kind, not complaining & spreading cheer to each person he met. It was lovely to see friends I hadn't seen for a long time. Among them, Tom's granddaughter, Sister Monica. We've known her since she was a little girl. She is with the Sisters of Life in N.Y. Larry & I were so blessed to attend her profession of vows about 4 yrs ago. She exudes joy, as do the Sisters at our church. The 3 of them asked me to video them together, telling Larry they love him. I did, & when Larry saw it, he had a beutiful smile
( which is a very welcome new thing.)
He had a very rough night, as I knew he would, with his wrists tied to the bed & his body rash painfully itching. He asked for a knife, they thought it was for self harm. He asked the a.m. nurse the same, or scisors as he was pulling on the wrist straps fastened to his wheelchair. He pulled the mitts off with his teeth.
He's been very vocal. Gave a big wow, wow wow to Shane when he snowed Dad a pic of the beautiful patio he just built. Very clearly does he let us know exactly how he wants to be repositioned and helps by pulling his body with hix arms. Using muscles that he hasn't used for 2 months.
Dialysis for the 1st 3 hrs of the visit. JeanMarc & Marguerite took me to the funeral then dropped me off here. They popped in for a couple minutes.
I've decided to stay the night, as I don't want Larry struggling all night. His surgery for tube feed insertion to his abdomen, is 1st thing & I need to be here at 7:00 a.m. to sign consent form. Jason's coming for a bit, so I'll take a break before we settle in for the night.
I'm loosing battery power, so I gotta go.
God bless you. If I have a good sleep, it'll be your fault, thanks to your prayers. xox
