Hello, thanks for taking the time to check on Larry's progress. And progress there is! Again today, I could see more strength & mobility as Larry helped himself in getting out of bed, especially as he pulls himself up to stand.

 The roads were clear, so I thought I'd better stock Larry's closet with enough clothes to last him, if I can't get in due to snow. I arrived just in time for us to enjoy our lunch together. 'Egg salad' sandwich was on the menu & he thoroughly enjoyed it.

   First thing this morning, he joined in group therapy, then the O.T. came & worked on Larry putting his own socks & shoes on. All these things that we take for granted when we are able. It's quite cool to see the gadgets that have been designed to help people who have difficulty. His physio also took him walking & cycling. The big deal today is that Larry practiced climbing on the stairs. There are 2 more days to this week, & he's farther along now than I thought he'd be by Friday. He is encouraged as he realizes good results from his efforts.

 Larry deserved a well-earned nap right after lunch. Then it was shower time, followed by group arm exercises. Larry's almost catching up to the new pace, but he still finds his 'sleeping on a cloud' mattress very inviting throughout the non-event times of his day. I called him when I got home & was so happy to hear that he took the initiative to do his breathing & swallowing exercises. I held my fingers to his throat today & he's got muscles there that he never had before. That's at least 2 months of chin/neck workouts faithfully, every day & it really shows.

  Before I drove in, our friend put our winter tires on for us today. We are both so grateful. I had to call Larry, as a special (I think) socket was needed. I phoned Larry & he told me specifically where it was. A few months ago, I couldn't have imagined him being able to tell me something like that. We are so blessed at how well his brain/memory functions.

  I was very comfortable driving in, as the roads were clear, even my short-cut in New West. As I parked the car at Queens Park, there was a dad with his 2 young children making such joyful noises as the little ones slid down the snowy slope, & gleefully ran back up for another turn. Without really a conscious memory, it gave me the joyful 'de ja vous' feeling of the many times we took our boys & their cousins & friends. The joy & enthusiasm is so refreshing. 

  It's Lisa's birthday tomorrow. She holds a very special place in our hearts, as she was Larry's roommate for at least the past month at RCH. After 2 months, she still hasn't been diagnosed & her neurological condition is very distressing. But in spite of that, she brought us so much joy while we were there. We also became good friends with her mom & sister. We feel as though we've been friends for a long, long time. Please pray for Lisa. Thank you!

 It's an earlier day today & I'm looking forward to tackling another project around the house tonight! The stepping stool has become my constant companion, as I search for things that Larry put away in high places.

 I am realizing that the way I am feeling these days is so fresh & new and unfamiliar, as it was long lost throughout Larry's fight for life since July. 'Thank You God for Your Amazing Grace! Please bless all who support & love us, with the same!' xoxo
